Interval positions with respect to the C major scale, notes in the chord and name variations:

  • Interval positions with 1 - 3 - 5 - 6
  • Notes in the chord: C - E - G - A
  • Various names: C6 - CM6 - Cmaj6

Note: Major six chords share the same notes as their relative minor seven counterpart. I.e.. The relative minor of C is A so CM6 shares the same notes as Amin7.
