What’s new?
It don’t look like much has been happening here lately but I have been pretty busy behind the scenes. Two main additions to the site are:
Jam Tracks
There’s so far just a few to choose from. Mostly blues but many more on the way.
Although the variety is quite small at the moment, the choices of key and tempo are plenty, especially if you join as a Free Member
These are great for practicing your scales and soloing in any key.
Note Finder
I’ve spent a fair bit of time creating this. It’s not perfect but I’m quite pleased with it so far. You can look up the following:
- Chord notes and intervals with full fretboard layout
- Scale notes and intervals with full fretboard layout
- Reverse chord finder
At this time, no chord diagrams or individual scale patterns are shown in the results, but the full fretboard diagrams are still handy.
I will be working on this at some point but not until I can get it to produce usable diagrams and chord shapes that are used in the real world.
All ideas for improvement and feedback is welcome. Just let me know what you think in the comments below.
If I can change something easily then I will do so quickly. For anything complicated, it will go on the “to do” list.
- So far on the to-do list is to show left handed fretboards.
- Add individual diagrams as mentioned above.
- Improve the accuracy of the enharmonic notes and intervals results (so far I’ve got them mostly accurate for all but the reverse chord lookup).
Let me know what you think.
You sent me an email and your site says”user with this email address does not exist”hmm, that’s weird.
Hi Dwight.
Thanks for the heads up. Can you give me more info so that I can check?
Thanks.
This is a pretty cool! website! Thanks so very much Lee!… I might even (probably) will buy your theory book. Been wanting to dive into a little Brian Setzer….stuff like ‘Beautiful Blues’….. will there ever be any Setzer jazzy -rockabilly type jams in the future? ….a little jazz is good for the soul!
At the moment I’m knocking up the jam tracks with Band in a Box, I don’t have a lot of time to create them from scratch.
What I can probably do quite quickly and easily is throw together some basic I-IV-V Rock ‘n’ Roll / Rockabilly style jam tracks to jam along to.
I’ll see if I can get some done at the weekend.
This is the best I can do at the moment. It’s a bit more “Scotty” than “Brian” but still Ok for a jam-along.
