ive been listening to a lot of linkin park recently and in one of their songs ‘one step closer’ off their hybrid theory album mike shinoda the guitarist, says he uses a lot of octaves where he plays them in the video.(i dont have the video with me rn) and i searched them up. but now i wanna know how to make any chord an octave, cuz they sound hella dope

Playing octaves on guitar usually means playing two notes together and octave apart. They take some practice and involve string muting. It’s not worth me trying to explain in text, just look for them on Youtube, I’m sure there will be plenty of lessons which will be far more effective than me trying to explain the technique here.
