In the second of the two diagrams on this page, which starts at the 7th fret the the second note which is shown as a halfstep appears to be at odds with thescale interval which says it starts ‘WH…’. Why is this?
If I understand your question correctly, it’s because the 7th fret (E string) is not the root note. The intervals WHWWWHW starts at the root note (A) which is the black dots.
